Child, 7, Struck, Critically Hurt In Crash Near South Jersey Middle School: Police

A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck by a car, authorities said.

On Thursday, Oct. 20, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Evesham Police and Fire Departments responded to the 200 block of Stallion Court, Marlton, for the report of a pedestrian-involved crash.

The pedestrian, a Marlton child. was found in the street, suffering from serious bodily injuries, police said.

Both the Evesham Police and Fire Departments attended to this child, and coordinated a medevac helicopter, to airlift the child to Cooper Hospital in Camden for treatment. 

The Frances S. Demasi Middle School, which is located a short distance from the crash site, was placed into a “shelter in place,” so that the medevac helicopter could land for the medical transport.

The child was transported via air to Cooper Hospital, where he underwent surgery. The child is currently in critical but stable condition.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police. There are no charges at this time.
